September 2017:   Everyone is happy!  My wife got a new little Yorkie puppy (named Judge ) and I had a very successful eclipse adventure (yes, the two were related) along with 100,000+ of my new close friends.  This was, as promised, one of the most amazing phenomena I have ever seen!  Selected photos include the eclipse as well as the surroundings at Solartown field outside of Madras, Oregon on Aug 20-21, 2017.  All were taken and processed by me with a Canon 5D Mark IV, 300mm L-series f/4 telephoto and 1.4x tele-extender, and mounted on an iOptron Sky Guider.  Processing was done with Photoshop CC 2017.

UPDATE:  The photo of totality with an enhanced view of the corona (#15 in the slide show) was selected as the feature eclipse photo in a recent Sky and Telescope Online article “Top Ten Astronomy News Stories for 2017.”  The photo is the result of stacking 7 bracketed exposures in Photoshop (click on the photo below to link to the article).
